Alana Keiser is an emerging writer and multimedia artist who is drawn to the juicy, the joyful, the grotesque, and the mundane.
Her work is an inquiry into the natural world, the body, relationships, death, queerness, and memory. Her work would not be
possible without the influence of writers who came before her, such as Maggie Nelson, Kazim Ali, Carmen Maria Machado, and Patti Smith.
Alana’s work is also greatly influenced by her Midwestern roots, her love of cooking, and her grandmother— visual artist Muriel Sutcher Knapp.
Alana graduated from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities with a BA in English and Creative Writing. She lives in Minneapolis with her partner, Betsy.
